About Prism

A sober home base for the Gayborhood.

Prism Clubhouse is an LGBTQ+ recovery clubhouse in Center City Philadelphia. It's a place to go to meetings, meet other people in recovery, and spend time somewhere sober and welcoming.

Why Prism

Recovery is easier together.

For years, many of the city's LGBTQ+ recovery meetings shared one community space. When those meetings had to move, they needed a home. Prism gives them one, along with room for new meetings and a place to simply be.

Prism centers LGBTQ+ people in recovery, and it's open to everyone. If you're in recovery, or thinking about it, you belong here.

What we offer

Now and next

Meetings, starting November 9. AA and CMA groups meet at Prism every night of the week. A new NA group is coming.
A drop-in center, coming soon. Regular open hours with someone there to welcome you, make coffee and talk.
More paths to recovery. We plan to host Recovery Dharma and other programs as Prism grows.

How Prism works

Anonymity first

We never share who comes to Prism, and no photos are taken during meetings. Any photo we publish is used with the person's written consent.

Every path is welcome

We host many programs and don't favor one. Each meeting group runs itself and is not affiliated with Prism.

No cost to walk in

Meetings are free. Nobody needs a referral, an appointment or a reason to be here.

Help beyond meetings

The Hart of Recovery also helps people in recovery with food, transportation, recovery supplies and everyday necessities.

No paperwork, intake or referral form is needed. Send people our way.

Share the schedule. Point clients to prismclubphilly.org/meetings, or print it for your bulletin board.
Tell them it's okay to just show up. Nobody will ask why they're there.

Prism Clubhouse is run by The Hart of Recovery, a Philadelphia nonprofit that supports people in recovery through Prism Clubhouse and practical help with food, transportation, recovery supplies and everyday necessities.

Governance: Prism is overseen by The Hart of Recovery board of directors.
